Hall of Fame Chicago Championship

The Chicago Championship will be entering it's 2nd year as part of the Hall of Fame regional-event series. The tournament will feature age divisions from 12u through 17u and will take place between April 10-11th in Chicago, Illinois.

2009 Event Information


When

Games will be held Friday night (if needed), Saturday and Sunday. 

About Event

Age groups will be 11u-17u.

This event is aimed at providing a competitive tournament in the midwest endorsed by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In 2009, 40 teams participated in the event.  Click here to see tournament reviews and post-event information.

All Hall of Fame events are run first-class with regards to competition, facilities, officals, organization, staff, and much more.

Exposure

As it now stands, this event will NOT be a sanctioned event for Division I college coaches. Division II and III college coaches, JUCOs, and scouting services will be able to attend and coaches packets will be available on site.

Illinois Prep Bulls-eye and ILHoops.com will be on-site to cover the event.  In addition, 

Sites

Attack Athletics will once again be the host site for the Chicago Championship.  Joy of the Game will be a secondary site.   Other sites will be announced shortly.

It is our goal to hold the tournament at the finest facilities that Chicago has to offer.

Attack Center

Play in the facility that trained professionals Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Ben Gordon, and many, many more. The facility is owned by trainer, Tim Grover, Michael's Jordan's personal trainer.


Format

Every team will be guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. Teams will be placed in 3 team pools with 2 games coming from pool play and your third game coming in bracket play in either Gold, Silver or Bronze brackets. Depending on how you finish in your 3-team pool will determine which bracket you go into, either Gold, Silver or Bronze.

All championship games will be played on the main court of Attack Athletics. Teams participating in the championship game will earn an invite to the Hall of Fame "National Invitational", which takes place July 11th and 12th in Springfield, Massachusetts.

IABBO Certified Officials

Exposure

Division II and III college coaches will be invited. In 2009, over 25 Division II and III coaches were in attendance.

IL Bullseye and IL Preps have agreed to cover the event. 

Other scouting services, such as Chicagohoops.com, Scout.com, SLAM, and ESPN will be invited.

Tournament Cost

$425 per team

Special: Register before March 1st for $25/team discount. Discount must be mentioned when registering.
